Corporate ESG and sustainability teams

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requires companies to demonstrate that commodities in scope — soy, palm oil, cattle, cocoa, coffee, wood, rubber — were not produced on land deforested after December 31, 2020. Annual satellite snapshots are not sufficient. Government land and forestry agencies

National forest inventories and land-use change reporting programs require systematic, reproducible data at national scale. Ground-based surveys are resource-intensive and provide point-in-time estimates, not continuous coverage.
