The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requires companies to demonstrate that commodities in scope — soy, palm oil, cattle, cocoa, coffee, wood, rubber — were not produced on land deforested after December 31, 2020. Annual satellite snapshots are not sufficient. The regulation requires due diligence documentation at parcel level, with supporting geospatial evidence that can be presented to competent authorities.
Scope 3 Category 11 (use of sold products) deforestation-linked emissions require the same parcel-level precision for a credible GHG inventory.
